A 25-year-old physically handicapped man was stabbed to death by an individual whose slipper got damaged after the victim accidentally stepped on it, police said Saturday.
The incident occurred in North Delhi's Civil Lines area Thursday around 7.30 p.m.
"Suraj was roaming in the area when John who could not walk properly accidentally stepped on his slipper from behind. Suraj, upon finding his slipper had snapped, started abusing John," said a police officer.
"After a heated argument, Suraj whipped out a knife and stabbed John in the chest. He then fled the spot but was arrested Friday from his hideout in North Delhi's Timarpur area," said the officer.
John was rushed to a hospital after police were alerted by a driver passing through the area.
"John succumbed to his injuries in hospital," said the officer.
