DMK president M. Karunanidhi Sunday said his party will oppose the food security bill if it is moved in parliament without the changes suggested by various parties.
In a statement, Karunanidhi said: "If the bill is moved with the amendments suggested by various parties, then the DMK will support it. If the central government is firm in moving the bill in its existing form without agreeing for any changes, the DMK will oppose it."
He did not say if the party would vote against the unchanged bill in parliament.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had Saturday demanded to know if the DMK would vote against an unchanged food security bill or not.
