A doctor and his wife have been abducted in Bihar's Gaya district, police said on Saturday.
Dr. Pankaj Gupta along with his wife failed to return to their home in Gaya town, about 100 km from here, on Friday while coming back from neighbouring Jharkhand's Gridih district where they had gone to attend a wedding.
The police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.
Gaya superintendent of police P. Kanan said that a case of kidnapping has been registered in Barachatti police station.
"A team of six police officials has been constituted to recover the doctor and his wife soon," Kanan said.
The couple's family believes they were abducted for ransom.
Gupta is a well known medical practitioner in Gaya and the son of a leading businessman of the town.
