A doctor was arrested by anti-graft officials in Jharkhand's Jamtara district on Tuesday for accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000, an official said.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official Mahaveer Prasad Gopalika said the civil surgeon, posted at the primary healthcare centre in Karmatand area, was arrested on the complaint of another doctor whose salary was pending since August 2015.
The doctor who levelled the bribery charges said the civil surgeon demanded the bribe to clear his pending salary.
Another government staffer was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs.6,000 in Palamau district of the state, officials said.
Both of them have been sent to jail.
