Doctor kidnapped in Jharkhand

A doctor was abducted for ransom in Jharkhand's Giridih district, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, Dasrath Verma was abducted on Tuesday night from Gurha village of Giridih district, around 200 km from Ranchi.

Verma was kidnapped when he was returning home. The bike he was riding was recovered by police on Wednesday.

According to police sources, a ransom of Rs.15 lakh has been demanded by the abductors.

In another incident, miscreants killed the husband of a village head in Jharkhand's Garwah district on Tuesday night. Angry villagers blocked the national highway to protest the murder.

Besides, on Tuesday, criminals looted Rs.9 lakh from a bank in Daltonganj district of Jharkhand.
