Two brothers, both doctors, from Maharashtra who finished one of the world's toughest cycle races across the US called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Tuesday, an official said.

"Two doctors from Nashik, Hitendra Mahajan and Mahendra Mahajan, who recently completed the 4,800 km cycling event -- Race Across America -- called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday," a PMO statement said.

"Their aim was to raise money for welfare of tribals, through participation in the race," it said.

The brothers, aged 44 and 39, completed the race in eight days, 14 hours and 55 minutes.
