West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress has named Dola Sen as its candidate for Rajya Sabha by-election to a vacant seat from the state on March 20.
The election has been necessitated by the resignation of Trinamool MP Srinjay Bose after his bail in the multi crore rupee Saradha chit fund scandal.
Veteran politician and state minister Subrata Mukherjee made the announcement at a press meet in the state secretariat Nabanna on Wednesday.
The polling schedule provides for candidates to file nominations between March 3 and 10. The scrutiny would take place on March 13, with withdrawals allowed till March 13.
