DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday ordered a probe into the alleged misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs.900 crore in Arunachal Pradesh through various centrally-sponsored schemes.
The schemes were related to the non-lapsable central pool of resources (NLCPR) and the North Eastern Council (NEC).
The decision was taken in response to a representation submitted by 11 Arunachal Pradesh legislators who alleged that the state government was responsible for misappropriation of fund released against projects sanctioned during 2011-12 to 2014-15.
The legislators had also requested for a special audit and inquiry into the misuse of central government funds.
