Borussia Dortmund announced that United States' attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic has extended his contract till June 30, 2020 with the eight-time German football champions.
"We are very happy to have secured the long-term commitment of another extraordinarily talented player," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc in a statement on Monday.
"Christian already enjoys a high standing within the team and can become a cornerstone of our sporting future."
Pulisic has played for Dortmund since February 2015. He won the German championship with the under-17s and under-19s in 2015 and 2016 and has been a member of the first-team squad since January 2016, writing his name in the history books in the process.
Pulisic is the youngest player ever to have two Bundesliga league goals to his name (current total is four). Also, he is the youngest Dortmund player to have appeared in the UEFA Champions League and the youngest full international for the US and their youngest-ever goalscorer in a World Cup qualifier.
Although he only celebrated his 18th birthday in September, he has already made 11 international appearances, scoring three goals.
"I still have a lot to learn," said Pulisic. "I feel Dortmund offers the best conditions to do that. I have the chance to play in front of over 80,000 fans. We have the best supporters in the world -- it does not get any better than that!"
