With technology now being a great eneabler both in crime detection and for the criminal, it is vital for Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials to be uggraded with their professional skills and stay ahead of wrongdoers, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Monday.
Addressing DRI officials at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the department, Jaitley said: "As we step into generation after generation of the service..now its 60 years of the DRI, the nature of offences have changed, and those breaking the law get more clever and sophisticated. Now technology is a great enabler."
"With trade related offences, at times the flight of capital is now so quick with technology, that skill upgradation continually has become essential for enforcement officials," he said.
