Drunk officer's car hits seven

At least seven people were injured, one seriously, when an excise department officer who was drunk rammed into them with his car here in Punjab, police said Friday.

The excise officer, identified as B.S. Sidhu, is posted in Phagwara, 20 km from here, a police officer said. The incident took place Thursday night.

Police officials said the officer had high alcohol content in his blood.
