A drunken water tanker driver was arrested for rash driving after he took the route Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would have taken from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, police said Saturday.
The driver, identified as Ram Karan Yadav, was booked for rash driving and violation of the Motor Vehicle Act, police said.
Yadav was spotted by policemen deployed along the prime minister's route at Sardar Patel Marg in New Delhi Friday night.
"A police van intercepted the tanker. Yadav was taken for medical examination and he was found to be under the influence of alcohol," an officer said.
