Delhi University on Thursday announced that it will translate 'world classics' in Hindi language to bolster cultural ties with foreign nations and educate Indians about other cultures.

"The University of Delhi has embarked on a novel initiative of translating and publishing the world classics (hitherto unpublished) of foreign countries in Hindi language," it said in a statement.

"This initiative aims at strengthening bilateral social and cultural ties further. This would make our citizens and students aware of these classics and would widen their understanding of the global thought."
