Dubai's win to host Expo 2020 is well-deserved: Portugal

Lisbon, Dec 2 (IANS/WAM) Portugal's Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas has congratulated the UAE leadership and people on successfully bidding to host Expo 2020 in Dubai.

"It is a well-deserved win for the UAE since it is one of the best countries with economic, cultural diversification and the constructive openness to people all over the world," Portas said.

This represents an advanced example of the UAE's capability to achieve stability, security, development and welfare for everyone,m he added.

He said his country was one of the first to announce its support for the UAE in its bid to host the event.
