Dubai, Sep 6 (IANS/WAM) The US-UAE cyber-security forum, which Dubai will host on Wednesday, aims to inform about public policy discussions in the UAE, drive bilateral collaboration in cyber-security and encourage cooperation amongst stakeholders, the organisers said.
The forum is being organised by the US Chamber of Commerce, The American Business Council in Dubai, Dubai Chamber and Dubai Internet City to connect US companies and experts with leaders in the UAE's cyber-security community and top government officials and business leaders.
Cisco estimates that cyber-security will drive $7.6 trillion of digital value over the next decade.
More than three-quarters of this amount -- $5.8 trillion -- will result from cyber-security's enablement of digital use cases that instigate innovation and growth.
"Cyber-security has become a vital issue for governments and companies across all sectors of the economy, from finance and healthcare to critical infrastructure and retail," Shukri Eid, managing director, East Region, Cisco Middle East, said.
"Public-private sector partnerships are critical to the future of cybersecurity, as collaborative information sharing will ultimately help define global security standards.
During the forum, the US Chamber of Commerce will launch a "Cyber Working Group" to ensure a sustained and constructive dialogue between American companies and the public and private sectors in the UAE and other GCC countries.
