Electronic toll plazas will come up across India by 2015, the Lok Sabha was informed Thursday.
Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Krishanpal Gurjar said the government had implemented the electronic toll collection system on 10 toll plazas on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.
He said the system will be implemented across India by 2015.
The minister said the government had received complaints of long queues of motorists at toll plazas and added that the electronic toll plazas would ensure a seamless movement of traffic.
