English pop band One Direction earned over 49.1 million pounds last year, with each member drawing a salary of 5.6 million pounds.
The group comprises of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. These figures, however, don't take the band's American earnings into account, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Their earning power has rocketed over the past 12 months. Who knows what the next year will bring? It's not bad considering they only finished in third place when they were on 'The X Factor'," a source told Daily Mirror.
Since 2012 the pop stars' earnings have more than doubled, and in the past two years the group has sold more than 45 million records as well as launched three international tours.
Earlier this week, they topped Heat magazine's list of Britain's richest stars under 30, beating Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson to the number one spot with estimated global earnings of over 77 million pounds.
