After their 0-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in Kolkata on Saturday, a desperate East Bengal will look to getting back to winning ways against Royal Wahingdoh FC in the I-League football competition here on Tuesday.
The Kolkata side is currently placed sixth in the league table with 13 points from nine matches, whereas home side Wahingdoh are third with 17 points from 10 matches.
East Bengal have happy memories at Shillong where they won both their matches last season. A win against Wahingdoh will boost the Red and Golds' aim of moving up the league ladder.
Both the teams have never met in I-League before but East Bengal got the better of Wahingdoh in the Federation Cup on December 31, 2014 when Dudu Omagbemi's only goal gave them a 1-0 win.
East Bengal have scored 14 goals in the league till date with striker Ranti Martins scoring 12 of them.
While Wahingdoh have netted 12 goals with Seityasen Singh and Jackichand Singh scoring 3 goals each.
