Ecuador's No.1 tennis player Julio Campozano will lead a group of four players to face Switzerland in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs in September, team captain Raul Viver said.
The list also includes Emilio Gomez, Roberto Quiroz and Gonzalo Escobar, reports Xinhua.
"Gonzalo (Escobar) was just out of college but his results and attitude led me to settle on him. The team is motivated and excited. Switzerland will be be difficult to face but have to take it as an opportunity," said Viver Wednesday.
Switzerland will host Ecuador on indoor hard courts in Neuchatel from Sep 13-15. The winner stays in the 16-nation World Group in 2014.
Switzerland was initially scheduled to be led by Roger Federer. However, he announced in May that he decided to take more time off this year to recover physically and be with his family.
