Ecuador interim coach Sixto Vizuete has assembled his squad that will face Brazil in a football friendly in New Jersey Sep 9.

It is coach Vizuete's first test since he returned to the national team. The coach has named 15 of the 23 that played in the 2014 World Cup without Antonio Valencia and Jefferson Montero, reports Xinhua.

'La Tricolor' is in a period of transition after the team failed to get beyond the group stages in the World Cup. Vizuete temporarily stepping in when chief coach Reinaldo Rueda left.

Winger Jefferson Montero, who has recently joined Swansea City in the Premier League, and captain Antonio Valencia were surprisingly absent for the forthcoming game but their new boss later confirmed that their absences are only temporary.

"Montero and Valencia are in the process of physical and tactical adaptation at their clubs. When they are ready, they will return and give their all for the national team," said the coach.

The squad:

Goalkeepers: Alexander Dominguez, Maximo Banguera, Adrian Bone

Defenders: Juan Carlos Paredes, Frickson Erazo, Jorge Guagua, Arturo Mina, Walter Ayovi, Cristian Ramirez, Mario Pineida

Midfielders: Carlos Gruezo, Juan Cazares, Segundo Castillo, Renato Ibarra, Junior Sornoza, Cristhian Noboa, Angel Mena

Forwards: Fidel Martinez, Enner Valencia, Daniel Angulo, Joao Rojas, Joao Plata.
