A court here on Wednesday allowed the Enforcement Directorate to question Altaf Ahmad Shah, son-in-law of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani, and two others who are in judicial custody on charges of funding terrorist activities.
Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal said that the ED can quiz Shah, Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali and Dubai-based hawala operator Naval Kishore Kapoor inside the Tihar Jail premises on any three days between March 25 to April 5.
The ED told the court that they want to confront the accused with some documents related to case.
In January 2018, the National Investigation Agency charge sheeted Shah and Watali along with Pakistan-based terrorist leaders Hafiz Saeed, Syed Salahuddin, seven Kashmiri separatist leaders and others in a case of terror funding in the Kashmir Valley.
They were charge sheeted under stringent anti-terror laws alleging that they hatched a conspiracy with Saeed and Salahuddin to wage war against India for the secession of Jammu and Kashmir.
The other separatists, who were arrested on July 24, 2017, are Aftab Hilali Shah alias Shahid-ul-Islam, Ayaz Akbar Khandey, Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karate, Nayeem Khan, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal and Bashir Ahmad Bhat alias Peer Saifullah.
Watali was arrested on August 17, 2017 while Kapoor was arrested in July 2018.
