The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday issued summons to three Trinamool Congress leaders to appear for questioning within a week in connection with the Narada sting probe, an official said.

Those served notice are legislators Sovan Chatterjee and Iqbal Ahmed, and member of Parliament Sultan Ahmed.

"They have been asked to appear at our Kolkata office in the next seven days," the ED official said.

Sovan Chatterjee is a Minister as well as Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor, and Iqbal Ahmed the Deputy Mayor.

The three were among a dozen Trinamool leaders allegedly caught on video tape while receiving money in exchange for a promise to dole out favours to a fictitious company. The clipping was uploaded on the Narada news portal in March last year ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal.

On April 17, the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a case against senior Trinamool leaders, including Mukul Roy, Sougata Roy, Kakali Ghosh Dastidar, Aparupa Poddar, and Prasun Banerjee in the case.

Others listed as accused are state Ministers Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim, Suvendu Adhikari, and former Minister Madan Mitra.

Iqbal Ahmed and Sultan Ahmed were subsequently questioned by the CBI.
