Efforts are on to secure the release of an Indian woman development worker abducted by unknown gunmen in the Afghan capital, media reports said on Saturday.
Judith D'Souza, 40, who works for the Agha Khan Network, an NGO, was seized around midnight Thursday in Qala-e-Fatullah area of Kabul.
TOLO News said Afghan security agencies did not comment on the abduction.
D'Souza had reportedly worked for the NGO for a year and was due to leave for India soon.
On Friday, her family in Kolkata urged the Indian and Afghan governments to act fast to secure her release.
"We want the government to return our daughter," said Gloria D'Souza, the victim's mother.
The Indian embassy here is in touch with senior Afghan authorities over the kidnap saga.
"Afghan officials have said they are doing everything possible to secure the early release of the woman," TOLO News reported.
