Eight youths accused of raping a minor in Ranchi were arrested Tuesday, police said.
"Eight youths, all from Banhora village and accused in Sunday's gang rape of the minor girl, have been arrested. The medical report of the girl has confirmed the rape," a police official told IANS.
Police said one youth is yet to be nabbed.
According to police, the girl, 16, accompanied by a male friend, was raped when she was returning from a temple situated in Ranchi's Kamre village Sunday.
At least nine youths dragged the girl into the bushes and raped her after beating up her friend.
Later, the injured friend took her home after which the family members informed police.
In 2013, more than 1,100 rape cases were reported in Jharkhand as against 812 in 2012.
