CBS network has ordered eight additional episodes of "Elementary" ahead of the shows sixth season premiere.
The sixth season will now run for a total of 21 episodes and will debut at mid-season. It does not have a premiere date or a time slot at this time, reports variety.com.
This marks the first time that "Elementary" will not air a 24-episode season, and also the first time it will begin airing in the spring.
"Elementary" is based on the detective stories of Sherlock Holmes. It is aired in India on AXN. The show gives a modern spin to Arthur Conan Doyle's creations, and replaces John Watson with a female version.
