End 2016 on high notes of good food, music

With 2016 coming to an end, the National Capital Region is all geared up to welcome the new year with live music, culinary delights and lots of fun. As the occasion of celebrations multiply, the restaurants and party organisers are all pepped up to serve from youth to romantic couples.

Spanish-themed hotel restaurant, "Sevilla at The Claridges" is a perfect romantic destination for couples to dine under the cozy cabanas over dinner with live music on New Year's eve.

For food lovers, Sevilla is offering exotic dishes like bacon-wrapped monkfish with wild mushroom fricassee, pistachio and prune stuffed turkey roulade with whipped sweet potatoes and baby carrot, braised baby lamb shanks with fondant potato, peas and caramelised shallot and much more.

"With desserts like white wine jelly with berries, red wine poached pears with mascarpone cream and croquemboche and exotic fruit tartlet it will definitely be an incredible evening of celebration and dining together," Chef Sahil Sabhlok, Executive Chef at The Claridges in New Delhi, told IANS.

At QLA, a contemporary European restaurant with cooking techniques deeply rooted in but not limited to France, there's equal emphasis on curated wines and handpicked cocktails that come together to make a great dining experience. The ambiance and music make QLA a treat for all your senses.

On offer is an elaborate international cheese spread with homemade compotes and pickles, freshly-baked homemade breads, imported meats, line caught seafood, freshly-picked vegetables from boutique growers and select micro-greens and choicest desserts based on artisanal, French techniques

"It's an unusual New Year spread that will set the tone for a soul satisfying, gastronomical 2017," Chef Priyam told IANS.

"Your thirst buds are will be sensorially overwhelmed - a tiramisu that you can drink, an Assam malt tea that's spiked to tease your palate and mulled wine that will take you to France," added QLA director Prateek Arora.

Popular among the youth, Hard Rock Cafe -- better known for its live music -- is going to rock with its all new "Masquerade New Year Eve party" both in New Delhi with DJ Ashish Nagpal and DJ Gaurav Madan in Gurugram.

Its menu comprises an assortment of scrumptious fiery skewers, such as charred Hawaian vegetable skewers, carolina style barbeque chicken skewers and seven spiced alfam Arabic grilled chicken skewers among others.

"We are very excited to begin 2017 with a masquerade party and a high octane evening of exhilarating music and a scrumptious, unlimited food and drinks menu," Jay Singh, Co-founder and Executive Director, JSM Corporation, told IANS.

"We believe that New Year's eve at Hard Rock Cafe will be a night to remember," Singh added.

For loves of Chinese food, Royal China is a good choice as the restaurant is offering traditional Cantonese cuisine with crispy aromatic duck with pancakes, prawn chung fun, seaweed and black bean chicken, just to name a few.

"Our motto is to serve authentic Chinese food but also keeping in mind the constantly evolving and emerging trends and taste from around the world prepared by our foreign chefs," Aashita Relan, Director of Royal China, told IANS.

Apart from great food, the restaurant also offers a lavish bar that features everything from flavoured martinis to Royal China creations of special cocktails to an international range of beers, single and double malt whiskey.
