An engineer was arrested here for allegedly raping a married woman for three years on the promise of marrying her, police said Tuesday.
A 27-year-old woman engineer from Madhubani in Bihar had married another engineer five years ago. They both worked in separate private firms in Udyog Vihar area here.
She and her husband moved to Hyderabad a few years ago, where she got into a relationship with another engineer, Harshvardhan Aggarwal, police said.
She returned to Gurgaon with Aggarwal three years ago and started living with him in Sector 31. They had a child together.
In her complaint, the woman said that Aggarwal told her that he could not live her anymore and would marry someone else.
"We have registered a case against the accused. He has been arrested and sent to jail under judicial custody," police said.
