Al Shabab have agreed to sign a deal with former Manchester City and Brazil international striker Jo, the Dubai club said.
The 28-year-old is expected to undergo a medical next week after Atletico Mineiro reportedly accepted an offer of three million euros, reported Xinhua news agency.
"The (club) has contracted the Brazilian Joao Alves de Assis Silva," Al Shabab said on their official website on Thursday.
"He has worn the shirts of several clubs with distinction, most famously that of Manchester City, in England. The Brazilian is expected to arrive before the start of the new season."
Jo joined Atletico Mineiro from their Brazilian rivals Internacional in 2012.
He helped the club to the Copa Libertadores title - South America's version of the Champions League - in 2013 when he finished as the competition's top scorer with seven goals.
Al Shabab, who play in the Arabian Gulf League, are coached by Brazilian Caio Junior.
