A farmhouse belonging to former Rajya Sabha member Veena Verma here in the capital has been burgled, police said Tuesday.
The burglars barged into Verma's farmhouse in Vasant Kunj in south Delhi Sunday night. They stole articles valued in thousands of rupees, said a police officer.
A case was registered Monday when one of Verma's servants approached police after finding the lock on the main door broken.
The servant told police that he and the other servants were in the servants' quarters when the burglary took place.
Verma was not present at her farmhouse when the incident took place.
Verma is the mother of US-based arms dealer Abhishek Verma, an accused in the 2006 Naval War Room leak case where classified documents were leaked from the Directorate of Naval Operations.
