Rural Development Minister Birender Singh will on Friday inaugurate a national workshop on affordable rural housing technology which will contribute to effective implementation of government's mission of "Housing for All" by 2022.
An official release said that the workshop will provide a common platform to developers, designers and technical personnel from the housing sector in rural areas to share the best practices.
The workshop will facilitate the dissemination of appropriate technologies and housing designs that can be adopted in different areas in the country.
The union cabinet had on Wednesday approved the launch of 'Housing for All by 2022' programme, aimed at rehabilitation of slum dwellers and promotion of affordable housing for the economically weaker sections (EWS) through credit-linked subsidy.
