Actor Omkar Kapoor, who will soon be seen in web feature film titled "U Me Aur Ghar", says that working as an assistant director and child actor, helped him to better understand the process of filmmaking.
Having started his career as a child actor in films like "Judwaa", "Hero No.1" and "Judaai", and assisted filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan, Omkar told IANS: "Exploring both the sides of the camera, whether as an actor or as an assistant director, gives you a better understanding of the craft.
"You get to know what goes around filmmaking, and how the whole process works. My career as a child actor helped me better my craft as a performer."
He made his acting debut in Bollywood as an adult with "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2".
In "U Me Aur Ghar", he plays the protagonist named Mittu. He enjoyed exploring the new medium.
"I am playing a young musician who is in a live-in relationship with a girl (named Chitti, played by Simran Kaur Mundi) and how their lives revolve around their journey in the city life. There are some shades of the character which is quite close to who I am in personal life," said Omkar.
Since the concept of web entertainment is gradually being consumed by Indian audience, Omkar says he not only enjoys working for the medium but also as a viewer.
Produced by Web Talkies, the web feature film will release on February 10 YouTube, Hungama, and Web Talkies itself.
