Canada-listed Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd, which plans to invest around $1 billion in India, has prepared a plan for modernization of Secunderabad Railway Station here.

A delegation of Fairfax officials led by chairman and CEO Prem Watsa met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss its plans for making Secunderabad Railway Station a world-class facility.

The firm also evinced interest in investing in other sectors in the newly-created state, said a statement from the chief minister's office.

Rao told the delegation that Telangana offers the best environment for investment. He said the government was giving top priority to road development, provision of drinking water and electricity generation. He also briefed the delegation of the plans for developing skyways and skyscrapers in Hyderabad.

Watsa also met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who invited the firm to invest in the state.

Naidu briefed Watsa about his plan for "Digital AP", Capital City and the state's potential to become logistics hub of South East Asia. He also urged Watsa to help the state attract pension funds from Canada.

Watsa said he is keen to invest in hardware, tourism, hospitality and power sector in the state.

Inviting Naidu to visit Canada, the Hyderabad-born investor said he will host an investors' summit in Canada and help Andhra Pradesh attract investments from the country.
