Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan has supported composer Vishal Dadlani, who has been criticised for his controversial remarks against a Jain community monk, Tarun Sagar.
Haryana Police on Monday booked Dadlani and Congress leader Tehseen Poonawalla for making "objectionable" remarks against the Jain religious leader.
Asked about Dadlani, with whom she worked in the 2007 film "Om Shanti Om", Farah said on Thursday: "As a friend, I support Vishal in each and every way. If we say our country is a democratic country, then people should have the freedom to say what they want to."
Dadlani had tweeted against the Jain leader addressing the Haryana assembly last week.
Following widespread criticism, Dadlani apologised and also quit the Aam Aadmi Party.
