A massive fire broke out at a manufacturing unit here on Friday, a fire brigade official said. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The fire was spotted around 4 p.m. at the factory, manufacturing spares for wagon foundry, situated at Tiljola area of south Kolkata, the official said.
Eight fire tenders were pressed into service and worked for more than one hour to control the blaze.
"Initial reports suggest the fire broke out because of lubricant oil, chemicals and wooden materials. There may be a stock of inflammable materials in the factory," the official said.
