Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, posting two videos of the latter's speech on his official Twitter account.
"First laughter now tears! Mediocrity comes face to face with reality," Gandhi wrote along with a clipping of Modi's speech in Goa.
Modi, who broke down during his speech in Goa, said his dramatic decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes had placed him in the crosshairs of what he said were "vested interests", but vowed to end black money and corruption with more projects.
At one time, he halted for a few seconds to check his emotions, saying he had sacrificed his home and family for the country's sake.
Earlier, Gandhi tweeted "Modi laughs as poor cry", referring to the Prime Minister's speech in Japan, a clipping of which he posted.
