Five people, among them four policemen, were injured when hundreds of flood victims attacked a block office in Bihar Wednesday, officials said.
Seven people were detained for the attack that took place in Patna district's Belchi block, police said.
Hundreds of agitating flood victims stormed the block office, leaving a circle officer and four policemen injured, district police official Manoj Kumar Tiwari said.
Tiwari said angry flood victims severely beat up circle officer Shiv Shankar Prasad and police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar. Seven people were detained in connection with the attack, Tiwari added.
According to a district official, flood victims were protesting unfair distribution of relief material and alleged irregularities by the officials.
Over 1.8 million people were affected by the floods in the state this year.
