With an array of cultural activities, another Norway Week is all set to make a mark in the India's financial capital of Mumbai.

The week will witness famous Norwegian Chef Sebastian Myhre conduct master classes on the variety of seafood dishes that the country is well known for. An elaborate seafood dinner reception will be prepared by Chef Myhre, together with Chef Hemant Oberoi, Corporate Chef, Taj Group of Hotels who will together showcase a confluence of taste and recipes from both countries.

The week will also celebrate the innovation, creativity and the growing cultural ties between Norway and India through the Mumbai Ibsen Festival. The festival, which will be first-of-its-kind in the city, will showcase the adaptation of Henrik Ibsen plays in contemporary times. Noted Bollywood personality, Rajasthani folk singer and theatre artist Ila Arun is presenting the festival in Mumbai, together with internationally-acclaimed Norwegian artists Kåre Conradi, Helge Lien and Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer.

"When culture and business come together, you get a perfect recipe for ensuring deep and long-term ties between countries and between people, for making new and exciting joint ventures happening," Norwegian ambassador Eivind S. Homme said in a statement.

"Through the Norway Week in Mumbai, we want to bring Norway closer to the people of Mumbai, and showcase how we can collaborate in so many areas. During the first state visit from India to Norway October 13-14, the Prime Minister of Norway also announced that we will strengthen our presence in Mumbai with a consulate general with diplomatic staff and a trade office from fall 2015. We clearly want to do more with and in Mumbai," he added.

"The Norwegian Seafood Council and Innovation Norway want to offer the Indian market the very best of Norwegian seafood, and this week will help strengthen this business potential. There will be various meets and seminars, in both New Delhi and Mumbai, held of the seafood industry with Indian counterparts to understand each other better and take the dialogue and hopefully seafood trade forward," a Norwegian embassy statement said.

The Norwegian Seafood Council and chef Sebastian Myhre will also do Master Classes for chefs from hotels and restaurants to demonstrate and inspire various species of Norwegian seafood, such as Norwegian Salmon, Cod, Halibut, King Crab, Mackerel and many other species.
