The season's first fog on Wednesday disrupted power supply in Ghaziabad and also created problem for motorists, officials said.

Residents in the posh Raj Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Govindpuram areas faced power cut from 5.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Superintendent Engineer (Transmission) Yatendra Kumar told IANS the power supply was disrupted from Murad Nagar 132 KV power station to the Lal Kuan feeder.

This affected the power supply in posh residential areas including trans-Hindon areas of Indirapuram and Sahibabad. The power supply was restored after repairing the faults.

Besides, the fog also disrupted vehicular movement.

"Even train movement remained affected in the morning hours. The EMU from Meerut to Delhi ran delayed by an hour and long distance trains were put on hold due to fog," Deputy Superintendent of Police Randhir Singh of Government Railway Police said.
