Foley injured himself while filming shirtless scene

His fans may have enjoyed watching Scott Foley running in boxers in the opening scene of "Scandal" mid-season premiere, but in real life the actor suffered an injury while shooting for it.

He had hurt his ankle while running down the stairs.

The 42-year-old's wife Marika Dominczyk shared on Twitter a photograph of her husband wearing a cast on his foot and captioned it: "Btw - aftermath of running with no shoes. On the street. #Scandal @scottkfoley #dasboot #foleyfangirls."

However, Foley continued filming the scene despite his twisted ankle, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes wrote on social media that Foley enjoyed filming the shirtless scene.

"Fun fact: @scottkfoley was less than thrilled but very game about running around outside in his undies. After I'd made him dance. #Scandal," she tweeted.
