To enable passengers to pre-order food for delivery at an opted railway station, Foodpanda has joined hands with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the online food ordering platform announced on Tuesday.
Passengers have been enabled to choose pre-payment mode or cash on delivery option for food from a variety of options during the journey.
IRCTC's director for catering services Robin Kalita said the main objective is to provide variety to choose from. "We aim to offer wider choices to our consumers and are extremely thankful to Foodpanda to have offered partnership with us."
Foodpanda's chief executive officer Saurabh Kochhar in a statement said: "The newly launched e-catering service by IRCTC (approved by the ministry of railways) is set to change the way Indians eat while travelling."
