The 'Charan Paduka' (footprints) of goddess Bhimakali would be established in a temple in upper Shimla for the convenience of the pilgrims, a statement said here Sunday.
"The 'Charan Paduka' of Shri Bhimakali would be established in Jeori on the national highway for convenience of those pilgrims who fail to make it to the main temple in Sarahan," an official statement quoting Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who is the chairman of the Shri Bhimakali Temple Trust, said.
The hill state, also known as the Land of the Gods, has 28 prominent Hindu temples.
Shri Bhimakali at Sarahan, some 180 km from here, is one of the prominent temples. It's visited by the devotees from India and abroad.
Singh said the complex adjoining the Sarahan temple museum was in bad condition and would be reconstructed. He said 'Lankdaveer Sinhasan' would be constructed with 20 kg of silver.
With its uncommon wooden architecture, the Bhimakali Temple at Sarahan is dedicated to the goddess Bhimakali.
The goddess was the presiding deity of the erstwhile princely state of Bushahr to which Virbhadra Singh also belongs.
