Brazil striker Fred has agreed a transfer deal from Fluminense to Atletico Mineiro, the two Brazilian clubs said.
"The striker Fred is our newest signing," Atletico Mineiro president Daniel Nepomuceno said in a statement on the club's website on Thursday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Fred joined the Belo Horizonte outfit from their Rio de Janeiro rivals Fluminense, whom he has represented for the past seven years. No financial details were given for the agreement.
Fred scored 172 goals in 288 matches for Fluminense following his 2009 transfer from France's Lyon.
The 32-year-old retired from international football after Brazil's 7-1 semifinal loss to Germany in the 2014 World Cup semifinal.
He scored 18 goals in 39 appearances for the Selecao.
