Fortis Healthcare Thursday said it is in the process of effecting a top managerial change with its incumbent chief executive leaving the company by the end of the year.

According to the company, its chief executive Aditya Vij is leaving the firm to look after his family business and investments. The executive vice chairman Shivinder M. Singh will assume additional responsibility for the company's operations in the interim.

After the international divestments, Fortis is also realigning its talent to further consolidate and grow its business. In recent months it has structured the company to meet the country's emergent challenges whilst improving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

Fortis in recent months has also structured the company for greater success, creating and assigning roles and responsibilities to augment and drive patient-centric measures for improved clinical outcomes as well as for greater efficiency and organisational excellence.

The company has positioned many of its experienced executives in strategic roles and infused fresh talent in medical operations, training and development, and sales and marketing to bring about greater alignment and traction in its ability to serve its customers better.
