Four men who burgled locked houses at night in the National Capital Region (NCR) have been arrested here along with a man who bought stolen property from them, police said tuesday.
The gang was involved in over 150 incidents of burglary.
Those arrested were identified as Rajender alias Buddha, Deepu alias Dharmender, Om Prakash and Shyam Sunder from Delhi. They burgled houses in Gurgaon, Delhi, Faridabad and other parts of the NCR.
Rajender, the gang leader, was into crime for over 12 years. He had been jailed several times. He usually chose his new gang members from among the prisoners he befriended.
"We are grilling them," Joint Commissioner of Police Vivek Sharma told the media. Eight other members of the gang were arrested last month.
Jewellery and other valuable items as well as money earned from selling the stolen goods were recovered from them.
The gang would sell the stolen stuff to Shyam Sunder in Delhi. He was also arrested.
