Four gangsters were arrested for their alleged involvement in two separate shootouts in Gurgaon, police said on Monday.
The arrested have been identified as dreaded criminals Vishambhar alias 'Pahlwan' of Gurgaon's Baliawas village, Pramod of Faridabad's Mohna village, Surender of Abheypur village near Sohna and Vikas alias 'Poly' of Gurgaon's Jattshahpur village.
The first three were involved in a drive-by shooting on an SUV on the busy stretch of Gurgaon's MG Road on July 15, 2015 which led to the death of an auto-rickshaw driver when he was hit by a bullet.
Gunmen in a car had shot at gangster Rakesh Yadav while he was on his way to a court. Yadav, 40, escaped unhurt in the firing but was injured after his car collided with the auto-rickshaw.
Yadav is the main accused in the killing of Rakesh Kumar Yadav, the sarpanch (village head) of Hayatpur village.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Sumit Kuhar said that four pistols and a few cartridges were recovered from the trio.
Gangster Vikas alias Poly was part of a gang which shot dead gangster Mahesh alias 'Attack' near Jharsa Chowk here on September 21 night. A pistol was recovered from Poly's possession, Kuhar said.
Gangster Kaushal, Poly and two others gunned down 'Attack' when he was returning to his house.
"We are grilling the arrested criminals," DCP Kuhar added.
The arrests were made by the Sector 46 Crime Branch Chief Amit Kumar and his team.
