Four persons were injured on Sunday when an escalator at the Rajeev Chowk Metro Station suddenly reversed its course, police said.
The incident occured in the afternoon near gate number six of the metro station, when the escalator, moving upwards, suddenly started slipping in the reverse direction, police said.
There were around 25 passengers on the escalator when the accident occured.
"Four persons got injured in this incident. We have registered an FIR under Sections 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC and are looking into the matter. All the four person recieved minor injuries," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Jitender Mani told IANS.
