At least four people were killed and two others were injured in a fire that broke out in a residential area in Manila, the Philippine capital city, on Sunday, police said.
The southern police district said the fire took 30 minutes to be brought under control and occurred in Makati city. Among the four killed was a two-month old infant, Xinhua news agency reported.
Despite the immediate response of the firefighters, the fire quickly spread out because the house where the fire started was made of light materials, investigators said.
About 30 families were left homeless due to the blaze.
