Four killed in train-jeep collision in Sri Lanka

Four people were killed when a train and a jeep collided in Killinochchi in the northern Sri Lanka on Monday, police said.

The train was en route from Vavuniya to Jaffna when collided with the jeep at a railway intersection, killing four people and injuring two others, a police spokesperson told Xinhua news agency.

"Those killed and the injured were all passengers in the jeep and were residents of the south," the spokesperson said.

The two injured had been rushed to the Killinochchi state hospital for further treatment.
