Eintracht Frankfurt's defender Carlos Salcedo will be sidelined after suffering a left ankle injury during the 1-2 defeat to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga football championship.

Mexico international Salcedo tore his syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle during the match on Saturday. The defender underwent a surgery on Tuesday and will be ruled out until further notice, the German club announced.

Frankfurt are in ninth place in the Bundesliga standings. They face Borussia Dortmund after the international break, reports Xinhua news agency.
