Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brigadier B.D. Mishra on Tuesday said fundamentalism and terrorism have always obstructed the society and the state in the maintenance of peace and march of prosperity.
"Terrorism, in any form, has no justification. Therefore, I call upon the students and youth to oppose fundamentalism and terrorism in all forms, everywhere and every time," he said.
Mishra was interacting with the students from Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Nirjuli and National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh on the theme, 'Fundamentalism & Terrorism - a global challenge' at Raj Bhavan.
To address the issues of fundamentalism and terrorism, the Governor said there was a need to change the mindset of the people.
Students have a big role to play in this regard, they must exercise positive influence in their peer group, he said.
The Governor, while underscoring the onerous role of the students, advised them to work with probity and rectitude in life, and said that in every action, there must be accountability and transparency.
Mishra emphasised that with high sense of nationalism, knowledge and innovation amongst the students, the nation will prosper. He stressed that it was the duty of every student to remain focused on academics with positivity.
